Why You Want Pat
To be Your Coach

Pat Wiklund has helped thousands of executives, entrepreneurs and professionals change their minds and their behaviors to achieve the goals and successes they've always wanted. When it comes to increasing organizational and personal effectiveness, there's no one better than Pat Wiklund for telling it like it is, and getting people and organizations back on track.

Pat's lived her own story of rebuilding her business from scratch...doubling her income each year for three years...and then quadrupling it. She's been in the trenches and knows from first hand knowledge what it takes to make it in challenging economic times.

As a Dentist, you want your coach to have been there done that! You want someone who has at least a few gray hairs and one "smile line."

You want someone who can be your guide as you address the complex process of changing your mind set, seeing yourself as more than you have been, and changing your behavior, doing the things that you already know how to do but aren't doing, at the same time.

You need a coach who knows how to be, and is experienced in being, both a therapist and a consultant. Someone who is ready to travel with you on one of the most thrilling, and rewarding journeys of your professional life.

For over 20 years, Pat was a therapist who helped hundreds of clients live fuller, more satisfying lives. She still focuses on opportunities and possibilities, rather than insisting on delving into every unpleasant, unfortunate situation you've experienced.

Known for her caring, no-nonsense style, she facilitates your shift in quickly taking charge with those people and events you can't control.

Her latest book, Taking Charge When You're Not in Control, is the exposition of her model for moving on rather than getting stuck in the past.

A significant portion of her therapy clients requested marriage/relationship counseling: dealing with issues and challenges from sexuality and intimacy to kids, in-laws and money. She's counseled newly weds, empty nesters, retired couples, and all the life stages in between. A mother of a now adult son, she knows from the personal side of the joys and challenges of marriage, family life and parenting. And, the hard decisions that sometimes have to be made.

For the last 15 years, Pat has shifted her focus to writing and organizational consulting. She's revitalized intact work teams where conflict and mistrust had shut down productivity and effectiveness. She's been called in to rehab executives who've gotten way off track, and helped others find a new way to make a living. She's been challenged to raise the morale of a support staff, and worked on a task force for the Secretary of the Treasury.

Her favorite: Facilitating the development of entrepreneurs, executives and professionals from managers to leaders.

Pat has purposely kept a diverse client mix, finding the issues and challenges in one client or industry inform the solutions she can facilitate in another. She's served clients in:

  • Government: federal, state, local
  • Industry: high tech, financial, healthcare, pharmaceuticals
  • Small business: real estate, retail, construction, sales
  • Education: higher ed, secondary, elementary
  • Professional Practices: dental, medical, psychotherapy, consulting

Of course she has degrees:

Ph.D. Fielding Graduate Institute, 1980 Clinical Psychology
(Alumni representative to the Board of Trustees, 1999 - 2002)
M.A. University of Chicago, 1970 Human Development
B.A. California State University at San Francisco 1964 Education

And, media appearances:

Oprah (twice!), Phil Donahue, Maury Povich, Leeza, Sally Jesse Raphael,20/20, TechNation, plus dozens of local and national television and radio programs

Quoted in New York Times, Chicago Tribune, Entrepreneur, Self, San Francisco Business Times, as well as dozens of local and trade newspapers and magazines

As a professional speaker for over 20 years, appeared before hundreds of audiences as small as 5 and as large as 2,000; as far away as Johannesburg and as close as San Francisco.
